Reason for my Endorsement: I find nothing positive nor negative about Judge McEntire. The North Carolina Bar Association ranked him at a fairly standard rating in 2012. In short, I’ll likely skip this race.

McEntire is from Mitchell County and is a district court judge for the 24th Judicial District, serving Avery, Madison, Mitchell, Watauga and Yancey counties. He received his B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1991 and his J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1995
McEntire was first elected a judge to the 24th Judicial District Court in 2008. In 2014, North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Martin appointed McEntire as chief district judge for Judicial District 24. He is interested in moving up to Superior Court.
